This 50-acre, lush, verdant, fertile and gently-undulating property is ideally suited principally to large-scale farming and livestock-rearing. Nevertheless its proximity to the North-South Toll Road (5 minutes) and Ocho Ríos (25 minutes) offers many other opportunities. Among these would be 1) the expansion of an enterprising tertiary-education institution to cater not only to the areas of Moneague, Golden Grove, Claremont, Brown’s Town, St Ann’s Bay, Ocho Ríos, Oracabessa, Port María and indeed the Tourism Sector; but also Study-Abroad programmes for U.S. colleges and universities (hotel accommodation 25 minutes away) (This could also transform the Golden Grove area into a university town.) 2) the possibility of developing housing, principally for the Tourism-employee market. These possibilities are by no means exhaustive; and this is surely evidenced by the multimillion-dollar development project for this area announced in the Sunday Gleaner of February 6 .
